Our Governors

The Governing Body provides strategic direction for The Redhill Academy and helps drive improvements in standards by:

• Setting targets
• Setting policies to achieve the targets
• Monitoring results
• Much of the work is carried out directly during governor’s meetings.

In addition, work concerned with the Academy’s finances, staffing and premises is conducted by the Governors’ Business Committee. Governors have a link role in Safeguarding, Curriculum, Teaching & Learning and Data Usage.

Each year we elect a Chair and Vice-Chair of the Local Governing Body. They are supported in their work by the Clerk to the Governors, who advises on points of procedure, law, and minutes of meetings. We represent all with interest in education:

• Parent Governors elected by parents;
• Staff Governors elected by staff; and
• The governing body appoints co-opted Governors.

The current Chair of Governors is Mr John Fahy, who you can contact via school.
